The spacing device (1) has a coupling component that couples two support components (2,3) and that is operable to adjust a bridging length between the support components. One of the support components includes a gripping seat that enables selective attachment of an adjustment tool to adjust the bridging length. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a vehicle roof; and (B) a method of installing a spacing device.
