The mixer has a transistor (12), an oscillator signal (LO) and an input signal (RFIN). The input signal covers an information signal and further signals where an output of the mixer is supplied. A control signal is supplied as a function of the signal quality of the output signal (ZF) on the mixer, and the operating point of the transistor (12) is adjustable by the control signal. As a function of function of the operating point of the transistor, the intermodulation and or the noise of the output signal are changed. An independent claim is included for a method for the controlling of a mixer in a receiver.
