For multi-channelization of an audio signal, there are provided an automatic wind noise reduction circuit and an automatic wind noise reduction method capable of enhancing the performance and degree of freedom of system design. Calculators (26, 27, 28) obtain addition signals of an audio signal for audio channels other than audio channels selected differently. Calculators (29, 30, 31) subtract addition signals from the corresponding calculators (26, 27, 28) from the audio signals of the selected audio channels. The subtraction signals from the calculators (29, 30, 31) are band-limited to a frequency band of a wind noise signal by LPF (21, 23, 25). The subtraction signals from the calculators (29, 30, 31) which have been band-limited are subjected to level control by level variable amplifiers (32, 33, 34) and they are subtracted from the audio signals of the corresponding audio channels. |
