The device has two transceivers (5.1, 5.2), where external transmit terminals (9.1) of the transceiver (5.1) are connected to external receive terminals (10.2) of the transceiver (5.2). A line-integrity signal transmit unit is connected to external receive terminals (10.1) of the transceiver (5.1). The transmit terminals (9.1) of the transceiver (5.1) are kept disconnected from the terminals (10.2) of the transceiver (5.2).
