The caliper has two main parts (302, 304) to maintain disk brake pads. The parts are arranged by a riveting unit such that ends of rivets (306) of one part (302) are warped on the surface of a part (304). A washer or tread lug (312) is provided below the head of a pin. The rivets are heated before riveting, so that a constraint appears along an axis of the rivets during cooling. An independent claim is also included for a disk brake of a motor vehicle.
