PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ice making machine wherein thrust is produced even in a compression passage for moving ice upward to be carried upward with the rotation of a rotary cutter. SOLUTION: In the ice making machine, ice making water supplied to a casing 11 arranged in approximate vertical is cooled by a cooling pipe 12 provided on the outer periphery of the casing 11, to produce ice on the inner peripheral face of an outer cylinder 11a. The ice is separated therefrom by an edge 14a of an impeller (the rotary cutter) 14 provided in the casing 11 and carried upward. The carried ice is compressed and shaped by a compression passage P to continuously produce ice chips or flakes. A compression plate 15 which forms the compression passage P with an inner cylinder 11b of the casing 11 is integrally provided on the impeller 14 for integral rotation with the impeller 14.
