PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve lock-up operational response during reverse driving in a lock-up device with a double-faced clutch. SOLUTION: The lock-up device 7 is used for a torque converter which comprises a front cover 11 having a frictional face 11b, an impeller 21 fixed on the front cover 11 and forming a fluid chamber, and a turbine 22 arranged in the fluid chamber. The lock-up device 7 is provided with a drive plate 74, a piston 75, and a plate member 61. The drive plate 74 has a frictional connection section 74a, and can output torque to the turbine 22. The piston 75 being a circular plate shaped member is connected with the front cover 11 in a integrally rotatable state, and has a pressure giving section 75a, and is movable to an axial direction by means of oil pressure variation. The plate member 61 forms a throttling section limiting a flow of operating oil to a radial direction in a space between the turbine 22 and the piston 75 at an axial direction.
