PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the outer structure of a construction machine capable of providing exhaust ports over a wide area in an engine room and/or an equipment room and moreover preventing the infiltration of rainwater from the exhaust ports. SOLUTION: This construction machine is provided with cooling air exhaust ports 24a, 24b, 34a in upper face covers 24, 34 of the engine room 20 and/or equipment room 30, and a cowl 50 covering the upper parts of the exhaust ports 24a, 24b, 34a of the engine room 20 and/or equipment room 30 and exhausting cooling air flowing upward along a partition wall 14 and exhausted from the exhaust ports 24a, 24b, 34a, toward a vehicle body rear part or rear upper part L1, L2, S1.
