PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a poly(ether)ester having a double bond at the molecular terminal, and useful as a reactive polymer. SOLUTION: The poly(ether)ester is represented by general formula (1), and is obtained by reacting an epoxide represented by general formula (2) with carbon monoxide by using a catalytic system comprising MCo(CO)<SB>4</SB>(M is an alkali metal) or MCo(CO)<SB>4</SB>and a Lewis base. (In the formulas, R is independently hydrogen or a 1-5C linear or branched alkyl; n is an integer of 1-100; m is an integer of 0-25; with the proviso that m and n satisfy the relation of 0≤m/n≤0.25).
