PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyurethane composition which can give a urethane having excellent heat resistance, adhesive performance and coating film performance. SOLUTION: A polyol for the polyurethane composition is the phenol derivative of 1,1-bis(aryl)propane unit-having lignin in which carbon atoms at the ortho-position and/or para-position to the phenolic hydroxyl group of one or more phenol compounds are bound to the C1-carbon atoms of the arylpropane unit of lignin.
