METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ZEOLITE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing zeolite by which cation-exchanged zeolite having desired characteristics can be efficiently and reliably produced from incineration ash. SOLUTION: The method includes: a reaction step to allow incineration ash to react with an alkali to produce zeolite; a separation step to separate the zeolite by filtering zeolite slurry; a cleaning step to clean the separated zeolite on the filter with water in an amount as 4 to 15 times as the dry zeolite weight; a cation exchange step to exchange at least a part of cations possessed by the zeolite with specified cations by passing a cation solution over the cleaned zeolite on the filter; and a final cleaning step to clean the cation-exchanged zeolite with water. The cation concentration in the cation solution is specified to a range of 0.01 mol/L to 3.0 mol/L. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
