PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design method for minimizing all AC loss of AC high temperature superconductive cable for electric power transportation and a superconductive cable for AC obtained by this design method. SOLUTION: Considering that an AC loss of a high temperature superconductive cable coaxial multilayer twisted conductor for AC corresponds to the sum of self magnetic field loss and magnetization loss, an equation for calculating cable configuration parameters optimum to minimize all AC loss relatively with ease using a computer is derived.
