PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promptly reproduce and output content data after switching. SOLUTION: A stream reproduction apparatus 102 is provided with a receiving buffer 103 for reading received content data for reproduction output while buffering it and a data control position determination part 204. The data control position determination part 204 determines a reading position in the receiving buffer 103 in order to reproduce and output the contents data which is buffered by the receiving buffer 103 by a content data reproduction part 209. A data reading part 211 reads the content data from the determined reading position and provides the read data to the read content data reproduction part 209. The data control position determination part 204 determines the reading position to the position where the received content data after switching is readable when switching of the received content data is detected by a control signal detection part 203.
