The portable folding grill has two electrically heated grill plates (1, 2). These are hinged together by a U-shaped handle (3) with pins (32) at the ends of its arms. The pins fit through sleeves (11) on the first grill plate into mountings (21) on the second. Stops (321, 322) on the pins cooperate with slots in the sleeve to prevent the second grill plate from fully opening without passing through a stable intermediate position where it is at right angles to the first plate.
