On narrow sides (4) of folded bellows (3), sealing strips (5) run transversely w.r.t the pleats (2). they cover the ends of pleats and are permanently connected to them. Each sealing strip is made of a flexible, compressible and/or expansible material. It resists creasing and crushing. This allows the filter to be curved out of a principal plane, without kinking. The sealing strip is adhered or ultrasonically welded to the fold end faces, permitting curvature as required. The strip material is a flexible filter fleece, felt or foam which resists crushing and/or is expansible. It comprises two or more layers with the foregoing properties. One layer next to the folds facilitates connection and is compatible with the fold edges. The outermost layer has properties facilitating sliding against the flow channel wall (9), and sealing off against it. The folded bellows (3) comprises an activated carbon-enriched, filter fleece.
