<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic musical instrument capable of imitating the resonance sounds of normally undamped strings of an acoustic musical instrument. <P>SOLUTION: A string sound and thump sound are risen by a key touch and in resonance therewith, a free string and aliquot are generated in succession. The thump sound is attenuated without waiting for a key release. The string sound slightly lowers the level after the rise and thereafter maintains nearly the same level and when the key is released (when a damper pedal is not stepped down), the string sound is rapidly attenuated. On the other hand, the free string sound and the aliquot sound are similarly risen by following up to the string sound and thereafter maintain nearly the same level after slightly lowering the level.
