PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission and reception module that needs no demultiplexing filter. SOLUTION: The module is equipped with a light emitting element 21 for transmitting transmission light and a light receiving element 22 for reception for receiving reception light, an optical fiber 25 for performing two-way communication between the light emitting element and the light receiving element for reception, and a spherical lens 24 installed between the light emitting element and the optical fiber, and the light receiving element for reception and the optical fiber. The light emitting element is mounted at a position where no light axis passes through the center of curvature of the spherical lens. The optical fiber is such that a line passing through the core center is parallel to the optical axis of the light emitting element and that the end face is inclined so as to be higher along the optical axis direction of the light emitting element relative to a plane orthogonally crossing the optical axis of the optical fiber.
