CARD UNIT

An extended type card unit (1) comprising a card case body section (2) consisting of a section (M) having one open side and containing a circuit board (5) and a part (E) extended from the circuit board containing section (M), and a cover (3) for covering the circuit board (5) contained in the card case body section (2), wherein the card case body section (2) is an integral molding where the circuit board containing section (M) and the extended part (E) are molded of the same resin material. The cover (3) is composed of a metal. Since the card case body section (2) is composed of a resin material, cost of the card unit (1) can be reduced as compared with a case where a metal is employed. Since the circuit board containing section (M) and the extended part (E) are molded integrally, the card case body section (2) can be protected against deformation, e.g. bending, as compared with a case where the circuit board containing section (M) and the extended part (E) are formed separately.
