<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for making a mold for casting a titanium alloy by which cracking of the coated layer of the mold after burning the mold, is prevented and a casting having more excellent surface quality can be obtained. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for making the mold for casting the titanium alloy, the mold formed with a cavity for casting inside is obtained by sticking the coated layer on the surface of a lost foam pattern, then sticking a backup layer on the surface of the coated layer to form a laminated layer body and removing the lost foam pattern and burning the laminated layer body. Furthermore, in this method for making the mold for casting the titanium alloy, the step for sticking the coated layer is provided with: a first step for dipping the lost foam pattern into slurry obtained by mixing calcia powder into binder to thereby stick the inner layer side coated layer: and a second step for dipping the lost foam pattern into the slurry obtained by mixing the calcia powder and inorganic fiber material into the binder to thereby stick the the outer layer side coated layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
