<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a block copolymer which exhibits excellent properties as a polymer electrolyte for use in a fuel cell etc. <P>SOLUTION: The block copolymer comprises a segment into which an acid group is introduced and another segment into which no acid group is substantially introduced, each by at least one. The segment into which an acid group is introduced is expressed by the following formula (1) and the segment into which no acid group is substantially introduced contains the repeating structure expressed by the following formula (2), [in formula (1), m is an integer of 10 or more; Ar<SP>1</SP>, Ar<SP>2</SP>and Ar<SP>3</SP>are each independently a divalent aromatic group wherein these divalent aromatic groups may be substituted with a 1-10C alkyl group, a 1-10C alkoxy group, a 6-10C aryl group or a 6-10 aryloxy group and at least either of Ar<SP>1</SP>and Ar<SP>2</SP>has an acid group, and Ar<SP>3</SP>may have an acid group; and Y is -CO- or -SO<SB>2</SB>-, allowing that a plurality of Y are differed each other, and in formula (2) n is an integer of 10 or more; Ar<SP>4</SP>and Ar<SP>5</SP>are each independently a divalent aromatic group wherein these divalent aromatic groups may be substituted with a 1-10C alkyl group, 1-10C alkoxy group, 6-10C aryl group, 6-10C aryloxy group or fluoro group; and Z is -CO- or -SO<SB>2</SB>-, allowing that a plurality of Z are differed each other]. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
