PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire/cable having a temperature detection part functioning over a long time, in relation to a wire/cable having the temperature detection part capable of grasping presence of abnormal heat generation. SOLUTION: The temperature detection part 13 comprises a temperature-indicating part 15 and a melting resin part 16. The detection part 13 is so formed as to be shaped into a linear form extending in the axial direction of this wire/cable. The temperature-indicating part 15 is formed by recessing a surface of a sheath 14 or an insulating material 23 to form it into a groove shape such as a U-shaped form or a V-shaped form. The resin part 16 is a member melting when reaching a set temperature for determining abnormal heat generation, and is formed in a color different from that of the temperature-indicating part 15. The resin part 16 is so disposed and formed as to cover the temperature-indicating part 15.
