PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method with high sensitivity and excellent image preservability by combination of a heat developable photosensitive material with a fluorescence intensifying screen in a wavelength range of 350-420 nm. SOLUTION: In the image forming method, the heat developable photosensitive material having, on at least one surface of a support, an image forming layer containing at least a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent for silver ions, and a binder is brought into close contact with the fluorescence intensifying screen containing a fluorescent material that emits light,≥50% of which has a wavelength of 350-420 nm, and X-ray exposure is applied to the heat developable photosensitive material.
