FILTER FOR ELECTRONIC DISPLAY AND ELECTRONIC DISPLAY APPARATUS USING THE FILTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter for an electronic display having together two functions of improving contrast in a bright place under illumination by a three-wavelength region light emitting type fluorescent lamp and of suppressing unnatural coloring of the filter itself. SOLUTION: The filter for an electronic display shows at least one local minimum of the transmittance in a visible light region of 400 nm to 700 nm wavelengths and shows at least≥10 difference between the minimum transmittance (%) in the local minimums of the transmittance and the maximum permeability (%) in the visible light region. The filter is further controlled in such a manner that: the average transmittance Ta(%) for rays at 540 nm to 555 nm wavelengths is≤40%; the ratio of the permeability Tb(%) at 525 nm to the above average Ta is≥1.10; and the difference between the maximum and the minimum in the permeability Tc (%)at 545 nm, permeability Td (%) at 437 nm, and permeability Te (%) at 612 nm of the filter, is regulated to≤10.
