PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide glass lenses for spectacles and spectacles which develop red without containing lead and reduce UV transmittance while ensuring visibility, or to provide a filter glass lens for a photographing camera which reduces UV transmittance. SOLUTION: Red glass lenses are provided which contain 40-80 wt.% SiO<SB>2</SB>, 0.001-0.1 wt.% Au, 0.001-0.05 wt.% SnO or SnO<SB>2</SB>, 0.1-1 wt.% CeO<SB>2</SB>and 0.0001-0.001 wt.% CoO. When the red glass lenses are used as glass lenses for spectacles, it is preferable that one or more layers selected from a color coat layer, an antireflection film layer, an antifogging film layer and a metal vapor-deposited film layer are laminated on each lens.
