PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively suppress the occurrence of a flaw and a recess on an optical film in transportation and storage, and the formation of a pressing trace on a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, even if foreign matter is mixed between layers of laminated optical films as "a roll article" and "a punched article". SOLUTION: In this surface protecting film, a foreign matter absorbing layer is provided on one side of a base film, and the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is provided on the other surface thereof.
