PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily lay a transmission line and to achieve reliable communication, by allowing an outdoor unit to communicate with an indoor unit even in an air-conditioning system in which no power lines are directly connected. SOLUTION: An air-conditioning system comprises the outdoor unit 1 for mounting a transmission line communication means 4 for transmitting/receiving transmission line signals via a transmission line 10; the indoor unit for mounting a power transmission communication means 6 for transmitting/receiving power line superposed signals via a power line 9; a first converter 7 for converting transmission line signals to radio signals; a second converter 8 for converting radio signals to power line superposed signals. The outdoor unit 1 and the first converter 7 transmit and receive signals via the transmission line 10, the indoor unit 2 and the second converter 8 transmit and receive signals via the power line 9, and the first converter 7 and the second converter 8 transmit and receive signals between the outdoor unit 1 and the indoor unit 2 by transmitting and receiving radio signals.
