PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collector-a metal collector for use in an electric double layer capacitor which relaxes expansion/shrinkage of active carbons caused from charging/discharging, prevents the break-away from the collector of the active carbons, has a large capacity, and is excellent in the durability in charging/discharging. SOLUTION: The metal collector has a through hole of the collector whose hole diameter preferably is 1-100μm. The collector holds the active carbons to be a polarizable electrode.
