PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store received image data in an all-purpose memory card after enciphering when the confidential image data are received. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a cipher key setting means 16-1 for setting a cipher key; an image enciphering means 12-1 for enciphering the image data by using the cipher key; and a data writing means 12-2 for writing the enciphered image data in a confidential box 13-1 which is arranged inside a recording medium 13 to be attached/detached to/from a device main body 10.
