PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize high definition zooming regardless of a photographing scene or camera maneuvering while a focused state is surely maintained. SOLUTION: A lens control device for controlling driving of a second lens unit 105 for the purpose of correcting image movement regarding movement of a variable magnification first lens unit 102, comprises: a storage means 120 for storing data indicating the position of the second lens unit corresponding to the position of the first lens unit created for a predetermined focal distance; a control means 119 (116) for generating information to control driving of the second lens unit based on the data, and for controlling driving of the second lens unit based on the information; and a distance detecting means 127 for detecting distance to the focus object. The control means controls driving for the second lens unit to generate the information, and performs weighting based on the detection results from the distance detecting means relating to driving control.
