PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator which can reduce refrigerant flowing sound in a cooling pipe during a freezing cycle. SOLUTION: The refrigerator comprises a U trap pipe 12 between an evaporator 3 for a refrigerating chamber which cools a refrigerating chamber 1 and an accumulator 5, and thus can reduce refrigerant flowing sound (hollow sound) generated simultaneously with the stop of a compressor 6 during a freezing cycle. Further, the accumulator 5 is disposed at a level higher than the lower end of the evaporator 3 for the refrigerating chamber, so that the refrigerant flowing sound (hollow sound) generated simultaneously with the stop of the compressor 6 during the freezing cycle can be further reduced.
