PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building with well-lighted interior suitable for any small lot, in which good lighting is available to its interior even if it is enlarged to the very limits of building coverage ratio for small lots under the law. SOLUTION: Recesses 3, 4 and 5 provided at external walls 2a to 2d of a building 1 that are open toward these external walls also have openings upward in the building 1, and at least one of the three inner side surfaces formed in each of these three recesses 3, 4 and 5 is made of a transparent material. Since sufficient lighting is introduced into the interior of building 1 through this transparent inner side surface of each recess, a building 1 with well-lighted interior suitable for a small lot is provided even if it is enlarged up to the limits of building coverage ratio prescribed under the law.
