PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hoist cable support device for an elevator which permits a bending moment not to work on a guide rail even if a relative dislocation to the height of a both end fixing part occurs without an excessive load being applied to the guide rail. SOLUTION: This hoist cable support device for the elevator comprises the guide rail erected in a shaft of the elevator; a shaft fixing section provided on a shaft wall of the elevator; and a supporting means which straddles the guide rail and the shaft fixing section and is fitted with a cable locking section jointed to a hoist cable at a middle section.
