PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a methane fermentation processing method and its apparatus, wherein a methane fermentation processing of high speed and high volume load is stably carried out even though the apparatus is compact. SOLUTION: A first fermentation tank 13 and a second fermentation tank 14 are arranged in series as a methane fermentation tank, and filter beds 21, 22, on which anaerobic microbes mainly composed of methane bacteria are supported, are positioned in each fermentation tank. Organic wastes after being slurried are thrown into the first fermentation tank 13, are passed through the filter bed 21 to be methane fermented and thereafter are passed through the filter bed 22 of the second fermentation tank 14. A digesting solution after fermentation is took out as a liquid treating solution remaining over the filter bed 21, an excess sludge remaining under the filter beds 21, 22 is took out from a bottom of the fermentation tanks 13, 14, respectively.
