PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slipper, the instep portion of which can be held opened for use, and can be held closed by flattening the instep covering portion for carriage or storage. SOLUTION: A shape retaining material (preferably olefin resin sheet having a drawing ratio of 10 to 40) made of a thermoplastic resin is embedded in or pasted to the instep covering portion (or the instep covering portion and a sole).
