The fitting has a housing with intake (3), outlet (4), and achamber with a sealed actuator. The protective element consists of a mainly rectangular box-shaped front attachment (12), which pref. defines the chamber for part of an actuator, electronic controls, or similar. The attachment has at least one aperture for the actuator element, and is mounted sealed on the fitting housing. The attachment is fixed via a mounting flange with bores (11) to allow location in several angled positions relative top intake and outlet. The attachment is of flexible plastic.
