<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens base plate with a light shielding part accurately formed, with high productivity, and also to provide a transmission type screen and a rear projector equipped with the lens base plate with the light shielding part. <P>SOLUTION: The lens base plate with the light shielding part 1A is manufactured by using a method including a stage for obtaining a microlens base plate (lens base plate) 3 by forming a plurality of microlenses (concave lenses) 32 on the surface of a base plate, and a stage for forming a black matrix (light shielding part) 4 on a plane part 34 between the adjacent microlenses 32 on the surface of the base plate 3 on a side where the microlens 32 (concave surface 321) is formed.
