<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transflective liquid crystal display wherein a belt like dark part in a display is not generated and half-dot deviation of display can be prevented. <P>SOLUTION: The transflective liquid crystal display comprises a liquid crystal display panel wherein electrodes opposed to each other are provided between a pair of substrates via a liquid crystal and which is provided with a plurality of pixels regulated by the electrodes opposed to each other, a semitransmissive reflection film provided on the inner side of the panel and an illuminator provided on the rear surface side of the panel. In the semitransmissive reflection film 12, a number of fine recessed parts or projecting parts are formed on the surface thereof and a plurality of aperture parts 32 transmitting light are formed in each dot region 12a corresponding to each dot provided at each pixel. The plurality of aperture parts 32 are formed side by side in the longitudinal direction of the dot region 12a, an interval P<SB>H1</SB>between the adjacent aperture parts 32 and 32 is made to be equal to or shorter than a resolution of distinct vision and aperture parts 32g each communicating with a part wherein the so called black matrix 35 which does not substantially contribute to reflection and transmission is provided are provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
