PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the calibration of a vibrometer and a strain meter, and the measurement of propagation velocity by a simple method and device. SOLUTION: This is a method or device for vibrometers for calibrating a vibrometer by measuring input waves which are generated by applying force to an object having a propagation velocity c and are in the state of not lapping mutually, with the strain meter and the vibrometer calibrated and fitted to approximately the same measurement position, and substituting a value pε<SB>m</SB>obtained by measurement with the strain meter and a value pv<SB>m</SB>obtained by measurement with the vibrometer into a relational equation of an input wave pv<SB>I</SB>=c'×pε<SB>I</SB>(where c' equals c in the case of the progressive wave of the input wave, and -c in the case of the backward wave).
