PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the refrigerant noises generated in defrosting in a refrigerator having evaporators respectively in a freezing chamber and a refrigeration chamber. SOLUTION: A three-way valve 3 is fully opened in defrosting, and a compressor 1, the evaporator 5 for the refrigeration chamber and the evaporator 7 for the freezing chamber are communicated with each other in the fully-open state. The refrigerant of high temperature from a high-pressure side flows to a side of the evaporator 5 for the refrigeration chamber of small decompression quantity. As the refrigerant positively flows to the side of the evaporator 5 for the refrigeration chamber, the quantity of refrigerant in the evaporator 7 for the freezing chamber can be reduced in defrosting, whereby the refrigerant flowing into an accumulator of the evaporator for the freezing chamber can be reduced, and the refrigerant noises can be minimized.
