PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal digital assistant which can keep displaying the information to be displayed to a display means with low electric power consumption. SOLUTION: The personal digital assistant is equipped with electronic paper 3 which can hold the displayed information even if a power source is not kept supplied, a power source supply means 2 which supplies a power source to the electronic paper 3, a switch 1 which turns on/off the power source to be supplied from the power source supply means 2 to the electronic paper 3, a power source control means 4 which controls the on/off of the switch 1, an information transfer means 5 which transfers the information to be displayed on the electronic paper 3 and an instruction control means 7 which outputs an information updating instruction in response to a trigger signal to the power source control means 4 and the information transfer means 5. The power source control means 4 turns on the switch 1 in response to the information updating instruction and transfers the information displayed by the information transfer means 5 to the electronic paper 3 and the power source control means 4 turns off the switch 1 after the end of the transfer of the information.
