PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable photosensitive material exhibiting a good color tone and excellent image quality. SOLUTION: In the heat developable photosensitive material having an image forming layer containing a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent and a binder on the same surface of a support, (1) a silver-saving agent is contained, (2) a phosphorus compound selected from phosphoric acids and their salts, phosphonic acids and their salts, and phosphoric or phosphonic esters is contained, and (3) a gradient of a photographic characteristic curve is 2-5.
