METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING VINYL COMPOUND

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive method for manufacturing a vinyl compound, with its content of ionic impurities greatly reduced, capable of producing a hardened article excellent in heat resistance and in dielectric property. SOLUTION: A vinylbenzyl halide and a polyphenol react with each other in an aprotic polar solvent in the presence of an alkali metal alkoxide, and a vinyl compound extremely low in ionic impurity content is obtained through precipitation upon direct addition of a water/alcohol-mixed poor solvent without washing of the reaction solution by water. The manufacturing process is simplified and the cost is reduced because the method does not require a liquid cleaning/separating step. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
