PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting instrument for funeral and festival enabling a bereaved family and relatives to pray for the bliss of the dead and going to heaven of the deceased with a fresh feeling by providing a negative ion generating function to the lighting instrument for funeral and festival such as lanterns, paper lanterns and floral offerings used as decorative articles when a funeral and a memorial Buddist's service are performed. SOLUTION: A triangle supporting leg fixing tool 5 is provided in a facing space of supporting legs 4 for the lantern A, and a cylindrical decorative body 6 opened in the upper and lower direction and a negative ion generating module 7 mounted inside are placed and fixed on the fixing tool 5. When the lighting instrument for funeral and festival is connected to an AC power source, at first, a lamp bulb is turned on, and then, when a switch is turned on, a pilot lamp is turned on to discharge negative ions from a discharging opening opened to the negative ion generating module 7.
