摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a noncorrosive relatively inexpensive brazing flux powder of an Mg-containing aluminum material which has satisfactory stretching properties, has excellent safety, also, has excellent cost effectiveness, and can be used for general purpose and to provide a method of applying the flux powder. SOLUTION: Improved brazing flux powder of aluminum material composing KAlF<SB>4</SB>, K<SB>2</SB>AlF<SB>5</SB>, K2AlF<SB>5</SB>-H<SB>2</SB>O and K<SB>3</SB>AlF<SB>6</SB>wherein Mg is contained by 0.1 to 1.0 wt.%. In the composition of this flux powder, the molar ratio of K/Al is in the range of 1.00 to 1.20 while the molar ratio of F/Al is in the range of 3.80 to 4.10. In the X-ray diffractometry of the powder, the intensity of diffraction peak wherein 2θascribed to K<SB>2</SB>AlF<SB>5</SB>-H<SB>2</SB>O lies between 44 deg. and 45 deg. is not greater than 12% of the maximum peak intensity ascribed to KAlF<SB>4</SB>.
