PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent lamp capable of increasing light emitting area, while maintaining compact shape. SOLUTION: The fluorescent lamp comprises a light emitting tube including one nearly U-shaped glass bulb or a plurality of nearly U-shaped glass bulbs communicated each other. The nearly U-shaped glass bulb forms a twisting portion with respect to a U-shaped vertical center line in parallel with an axis of two straight tube parts of the U-shaped glass bulb.
