<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of surely intercepting a laser beam without increasing the number of parts. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with a shutoff/release lock mechanism 60 holding a developing unit 30 on an image forming apparatus body 11 side. The shutter part 62 of the mechanism 60 is integrally provided with a lock part 61. By moving the lock part 61, the shutter part 62 is also moved to intercept the path of the laser beam or release it. When the unit 30 is held by the lock part 61, the shutter part 62 releases the path of the laser beam, and when the unit 30 is released by the lock part 61, the shutter part 62 moves together with the lock part 61 to intercept the path of the laser beam. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
