<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform access with a single reproduction unit as the criterion on a format or on a recording medium, in an encoding method and a device. <P>SOLUTION: The encoding apparatus includes an image delay device 3 for delaying a video signal from a digital VTR 2; a cut deciding circuit 9 for deciding the picture type of a video signal, corresponding to non-delayed time code data from the digital VTR 2, on the basis of time code data obtained with the time code data of a program search point registered on an edit list as a criterion and picture type data, which corresponds to the video signal indicated by the time code data and indicates a picture type corresponding to a prediction direction; and outputting encode sequence instruction data, on the basis of the result of the decision; a picture type control part 5 for performing predictive processing for the video signal supplied from the digital VTR 2 so as to be the picture type indicated by the encode sequence instruction data, a DCT10 for applying encoding processing to the output; a quantizer 11; a dequantizer 12; an inverse DCT 13; an entropy encoder 17; a quantization level control circuit 15; and a quantization level correcting device 16. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
