摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for collision avoidance of a suction nozzle of an excavating device capable of efficiently performing sucking excavation while avoiding the damage of the suction nozzle or a buried object by the contact of the suction nozzle with a ground surface or the buried object when excavation is performed while moving the suction nozzle along the ground surface. SOLUTION: The suction nozzle 7 for suckingly discharging excavated sediment is connected to the tip of the rod 6a of a hydraulic cylinder 6 as a drive means. Ultrasonic sensors 12 as a detection means for detecting the raise of the ground surface or the presence or absence of the buried object near the tip of the suction nozzle 7 are disposed at a plurality of required points on the outside of the suction nozzle 7. Also, the device comprises a control means 15 outputting, based on output signals 13 outputted from the ultrasonic sensors 12, control signals 14 for lifting the suction nozzle 7 to the hydraulic cylinder 6 so that a distance between the tip of the suction nozzle 7 and the ground surface becomes approximately constant and the tip of the suction nozzle 7 does not come into contact with the buried object.
