PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively manufacture a steel member for a continuous underground wall capable of dispensing with manufacture of a U-shaped steel sheet pile having a special shape by a new and exclusive rolling mill and suppressing deformation due to thermal warp after welding to the minimum extent and having excellent placing property in joining by welding of the U-shaped steel sheet pile of the steel member for the continuous underground wall and wide-flange shape steel. SOLUTION: When welding both ends of a flange 3a on one side of the wide-flange shape steel 3 on flange parts 2b provided in a web part 2a and at both ends of the web part 2a and the web part 2a of the U-shaped steel sheet pile 2 whose cross section is formed into substantially U-shape from an arm part 2c provided at a tip of the flange part 2b, welding at both ends of the flange is simultaneously performed in two left and right sections within the same cross section or welding on the other side is started in a range of temperature (TA) in a welding part after completion of welding on one side among both ends of the flange of 200°C or more to equalize thermal warp in two left and right sections within the cross section.
