PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device for a base isolation architecture capable of reducing the labor of a passenger required to make movement between a lower building part and an upper building part. SOLUTION: On the lower building part 1, the upper building part 2 is supported through a base isolation device 3, wherein the lower building part 1 is furnished with a lower elevator shaft 5 while the upper building part 2 is furnished with an upper elevator shaft 7, and the lower shaft 5 and the upper shaft 7 are adjoining at the intermediate floor 4 where the base isolation device 3 is installed. A car 13 for the lower building part having a lower car doorway 15 rises and falls inside the lower shaft 5, while a car 23 for the upper building part having an upper car doorway 25 rises and falls inside the upper shaft 7. The two cars 13 and 23 are arranged capable of landing onto the intermediate floor 4 in line, and when landed in line, their insides can have communicate with each other via the lower car doorway 15 and the upper car doorway 25.
